refugency
Noun: The state or condition of being a refugee; the quality of seeking or having found refuge.
Note: This word is extremely rare in modern English. It is not listed in major contemporary dictionaries (e.g., Oxford, Merriam-Webster) and is considered obsolete or archaic. The most common term for this concept is "refugee status" or "asylum." The spelling "refugency" is a variant of the even rarer "refugence." The word does not mean "bright light" or "splendor" in English; that definition belongs to the unrelated word "refulgence" (from Latin refulgens).
