thoát nợ
thoát nợ is a Vietnamese verb for becoming free from debt: not just paying something back, but reaching the relieved state of being clear of what you owed. It often appears in personal finance or business contexts, where the focus is on the burden finally being gone. But Vietnamese can also stretch thoát nợ beyond money. In colloquial speech, it may describe getting rid of an unwanted responsibility, a troublesome situation, or even an annoying person. How is this different from trả nợ, xóa nợ, or hết nợ?
