vang
vang is all about something that carries: a bell ringing out, a shout resounding through a hall, or a voice that feels clear and resonant. In Vietnamese, it can work as both a verb and an adjective, so the same word can describe the action of sound spreading and the quality of a sound itself. But vang does not stop at literal sound. It can also point to fame or reputation spreading far and wide, and it appears in useful combinations like vang lên, vang dội, vang vọng, vang danh, and âm vang. There is even a separate rượu vang meaning “wine.” Watch the full lesson to hear how these uses connect naturally.
